It's finally here, the first summer blockbuster of the year. I can't find a more clear cut sign that the summer is here that the release of this movie. The set up has been perfect since the release of the Iron Man movies. The have officially revived B-list heroes of the Marvel Universe and slap them on the front page with a bang. The Hulk has evolved into an amazing character considering the Eric Bana fiasco way back when. Iron Man bounced back from his drunken display at his birthday party. Captain America is no longer a story for children. Thor proved to be the glue for a lot of the stories in this series. And the final assembly is way more than the sum of its parts. This is way more than just an action film. There's depth, there's deceit, there's connection, there's teamwork, comraderie, sacrifice, and a lot of comedy. This movie has it all, it's 2 and a half hours that leave you wanting way more. I could go on forever about this movie, because it has so much to offer. If you live in corporate America, I recommend you watch this with your coworkers to learn how name calling can be useful to achieve results. If you're in a relationship, watch it with your girlfriend so she understands how easy it is to extract information from a man looking at a beautiful woman. If you have friends, you will learn how to survive a fight when you're outnumbered by sticking together and coming up with a plan. If you're emo, watch the movie, Dr. Bruce Banner talks about shooting himself and not dying. If you ever played sports, watch and learn how a captain reacts under pressure. If you have a brother (especially if he's adopted), learn about fraternal love. If you're always angry, watch it.
This movie just has so many applications to real life, the list is endless. It is so well made, there's continuity like non-other and I would not be surprised to see a lot of Avenger costumes this Halloween (I got dibs on Captain America). That's it, that's all I wanted to say about this.
