Raising the Bar to "Genius" Level

I'm glad that Apple is now the target of our ever reaching big government. If there's ever been a billionaire corporation that actual embodies what true capitalism is, yet manages to attract every single college couch internet surfing activist who fights against capitalism ironically wearing American Apparel, Crocs, North Face, drinking PBR while they show us a slideshow presentation of how horrible said capitalism is on their iPad Air 2, is Apple.

Apple has so much likability, that no one ever includes them when referring to "evil corporations" who hide their money overseas to avoid paying taxes on it (Apple does). It also gets excluded when anti-capitalists talk about corporation maximizing profits, or wage inequality gaps. It is a company whose slogan is "Think Different" yet for years their iPod commercials painted all of us as simple black silhouettes dancing around where the only detail that stood out was the contrasting white Apple earbuds. Don't think Apple likes to slap us in the face? Remember when the first iPad came out and it glaringly had a camera left out? And the very first iPhone couldn't text pictures, when my crappy little Motorola flip phone purchased 5 years earlier could? How many times have they changed their chargers? Firewire ports? The list goes on and on.

We're all about individuality
To the very few people who can read between the lines, yes, I use and prefer Android. And before any you hipsters begin to make your assumptions based on whatever short enough meme you read while scrolling through Facebook, I had an iPhone when you were all still asking your moms to drive you to "hang out at the mall with your friends" and I currently use both Android and iPhone.

But phone usage is besides the point. On Feb 16, 2016, Apple released this letter. The FBI has asked (for now they're only asking) Apple to create an encryption back door to the iPhone. The Government has promised that they will have limited use. Here is an excerpt taken directly from Apple's memo:

"The government is asking Apple to hack our own users and undermine decades of security advancements that protect our customers — including tens of millions of American citizens — from sophisticated hackers and cybercriminals. The same engineers who built strong encryption into the iPhone to protect our users would, ironically, be ordered to weaken those protections and make our users less safe.We can find no precedent for an American company being forced to expose its customers to a greater risk of attack. For years, cryptologists and national security experts have been warning against weakening encryption. Doing so would hurt only the well-meaning and law-abiding citizens who rely on companies like Apple to protect their data. Criminals and bad actors will still encrypt, using tools that are readily available to them."
Apple clearly understands that criminals are very likely to not follow the law. And when the government infringes on liberties that should be secured under the constitution, it only affects law abiding citizens.

This is the phone you want. Look at it.
LOOK AT IT. Now, buy it. BUY IT.
So why did I say that I was glad that Apple was the target of our big brotheresque government? Because Apple stood up to them. Apple has told the government 'No', enough is enough. And if there's any private enterprise that has the power AND the popular support to stand up to this obvious 4th amendment infringement, is Apple. Let's rally behind them, but let's not stop there, let's push back and regain our lost liberties.
